1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Studyra application (the “Service”), you formally agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to every provision of these terms, you may not access or use the application. These terms govern your usage of all features, including local storage and AI interaction mechanisms.
2. Description of Service
Studyra is an advanced educational and productivity utility designed to leverage artificial intelligence for creating study modules, dynamic quizzes, and flashcards. The application functions primarily as a local client; it requires you to provide your own valid third-party API keys (e.g., from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini) to securely facilitate and access these generative features.
3. User Responsibilities & API Key Security
You are entirely responsible for the security and confidentiality of the third-party API keys you input into Studyra. You agree that any usage charges, quota limits, or violations of your chosen provider’s separate terms of service resulting from your API key are strictly your responsibility. You agree not to use Studyra to process, generate, or transmit illegal, highly sensitive, legally privileged, or explicitly prohibited content.
4. AI-Generated Content and Disclaimers
Studyra utilizes Large Language Models to interpret your notes and systematically generate academic material. Artificial Intelligence is inherently probabilistic and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information (often referred to as ‘hallucinations’). You agree that you are solely and wholly responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and verifying the accuracy of all generated content before relying upon it for academic, professional, legal, or personal purposes.
5. No Professional Liability
Studyra is provided solely for educational and organizational purposes. Under no circumstances is Studyra liable for academic penalties, loss of data, failed examinations, or damages resulting from the use of, or failure of, AI-generated materials. The Service is provided on an ‘AS IS’ and ‘AS AVAILABLE’ basis without any warranties of any kind.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Studyra, its creator, Benjamin Zhang, and any associated affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, or data, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the application.
7. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice. We also reserve the right to update these Terms of Service periodically. Your continued use of the application following the posting of any changes constitutes your formal acceptance of those changes.
